A Firm Black Fire Rope (Round Profile) for replacing existing sealing rope on stoves and creating a better seal when joining flue pipes to stoves or chimneys. This fire rope, combined with adhesive, ensures easy installation and a secure, heat-resistant seal. Most manufacturers will recommend that the fire rope is inspected for signs of wear regularly. Some manufacturers will recommend that the seal be replaced every 12 months. Of course, the frequency of this depends on how often the stove is used. NCC would certainly recommend that if the stove is used a lot, the old rope should be looked at and replaced with new fire rope as soon as the door doesn’t compress as well as it used to. Seals around the glass are not subject to the same weight of compression as the door and generally do not need to be replaced quite as often. Additionally, maintaining stove glass is crucial, especially since it must withstand very high temperatures.
