When installing a flue system, it passes through the roof of the property; when it does, you must cut a hole in the surface or through the roof tiles. This hole will always be larger than the overall diameter of the flue pipe used due to safe clearances to combustible materials. For example, a twin wall flue pipe with an overall diameter of 200mm will typically require a hole in the roof cut to at least a diameter of 300mm.

This is where a roof flashing steps in, and a roof flashing is designed to provide a weatherproof seal at this point by covering the hole with a base plate and providing a watertight seal around the flue with the silicone collar. These pipe flashings come from leading brands Dektite and Aztec Washer Company, who all make top quality twin wall flue flashing that helps fitters save time and labour on a stove or flue system installs.
The products don't need to be manipulated and installed by a master roofer, unlike lead flashing, and they can be a better alternative where lead is too heavy or where it may take too long or be too expensive to install. They come in both high temperature and low-temperature flashings.
These twin wall flue options look like lead in colour and texture. It's pretty tricky to spot the difference between alternative pipe flashings and genuine lead pipe flashings on some occasions. Like actual lead flashing, our roof flashing products come in various thicknesses. So look no further for your next twin wall flue system installation.
