When installing, slide the register plate over your existing flue, and tighten it with the ring spanner. Next, find ventilation holes on both inside corners of the register plate. With one hand at each hole, push them outwards to accommodate standard flexible flues (150mm). The air is less likely to leak out from these vents rather than a round hole in the roof or wall. If you can't find gaps in between that are of a size suitable for your chimney liner, use screws to fix it securely into place onto your chimney bricks - should there be any overlaps left over, trim off unless they're shielded by other sections so that they don't get filled up with straw or vermiculite insulation later on.
