Blank Closure Plate 1240mm x 600mm

A chimney closure plate is fitted at the base of a chimney when installing a stove into an existing fireplace with a chimney flue liner. It closes off the open chimney cavity above the fireplace, creating a neat finish where the flue liner passes up into the chimney. Unlike a register plate, a chimney closure plate is used when the stove is connected directly to a flue liner. This allows smoke and combustion gases to travel through the liner rather than into the open chimney space.

In addition to improving the appearance of the fireplace opening, a closure plate can help reduce heat loss by limiting warm air from escaping into the chimney cavity.
