Guide To buying Chimney Liners
When installing a chimney flue liner for multi-fuel stoves, lining a chimney with a flexible flue liner can become costly and time-consuming and can easily go wrong during the installation and cause the chimney flue liner to fail which results in buying new liners.
At NCC we refuse to sell inferior flue liners for wood burners and only offer our customers the best flue liners on the market. We understand there is a huge number of solid fuel stoves available, and it can often be challenging to look for the correct stainless steel flue liners for your wood burner. In most installs, you will need a multi-fuel flue liner for a wood burner or solid fuel stove. The chimney liners come in two grades.
Chimney liner should be durable and capable of being fitted through the chimney stack. Our 316 grade and 904 grade flexible chimney liner is able to withstand the high temperatures that your new stove will be subjected to, and cope with wet conditions that can exist inside chimneys and the flue outlet.
Installation Of Flexible Flue Liner
If you are installing a flexible flue liner in an existing chimney, always make sure you get the chimney swept first making sure there is no soot or other obstructions that could create difficulties on installation. Always remember that all work must be visually inspected as per the UK Building Regulations.
This check ensures that the flexible flue liner is correctly installed and the right size for the appliance fitted and completely free of any blockages. Your chimney may also need other components to ensure safe and reliable operation.
Building regulations do not insist that you fit a chimney liner, If you have a suitable chimney and the chimney can be proven sound using a set smoke test and has a diameter suitable for the stove appliance requirements. The stove-fitter can connect to the chimney in a way that satisfies the regulations.
NCC flue supplies can provide everything you'll need to fit a chimney liner, including a great range of chimney cowls at some of the best UK prices to both the trade and the public.
Always get a new flexible flue liner professionally swept before use each year to avoid a chimney fire and run a smoke test to make sure that the flexible liner is entirely smoke-tight. If you have any questions about flexible steel liners don't hesitate to get in touch.
